Inevitable decline or renovation of Liberal International Order

VITTORIO EMANUELE PARSI is professor of “International Relations” in the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He is the director of ASERI (Graduate School of Economics and International Relations) and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) in Lugano.

He has been Chair of the SGRI (Standing Group of International Relations, 2013-2020). He is a member of the Italian Society of Political Science (SISP) and a founding member of the Society for the Study of the Dissemination of Democracy (SSDD). He is a member of the LSE IDEAS Advisory Board (Center for Diplomacy and Strategy at the London School of Economics).

He is columnist for “Il Foglio”. He is Scientific Advisor of the Italian Navy.

His main research areas concern transatlantic relations, security policies in the Middle East and the Mediterranean and the relationship between politics and economics in the transformation of the global system.

He is part of the Navy Reserve with the rank of Commander, and served for two shifts at the UNIFIL Headquarters, in Naqoura (2015 and 2016). He was embarked on Destroyer Caio Duilio, Frigate Bergamini and Brigantine Amerigo Vespucci.

He received the “UN Peacekeeping Medal” and the “Commemorative Cross for Peace Operations” (with bronze star). It is decorated with the “Cross with Swords pro Merito Melitensi” of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
