OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Cringe Free Networking - What, Why & How?
Few of us like the idea of ‘networking’. But we know that forging good relationships helps us understand how things work in new spheres of research or employment, and can open doors. Come along for an hour of myth-busting insights into the hidden job market and tips on effective networking through various mechanisms including social media.
Feel free to bring your lunch.
Between 2pm and 3pm there is a second, optional hour specifically for Researchers. This is an opportunity to ask your questions as an early career researcher about networking within academic circles, or as a bridge into related policy, industry or service sectors.
You do not need to book a place at this event but please bear in mind that spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis and popular events may fill early so arrive in good time. If you have any particular requirements, that may help you to access this event, then please do share them with us prior to attending by contacting reception@careers.ox.ac.uk or telephone 01865 274646. As booking isn’t required you will not be notified of any changes to this event so please always check the details on CareerConnect in advance of setting out to attend.
