European Security Today: Challenges in the Baltic Region
The event is followed by a drinks reception
The Baltic region has moved from the geopolitical periphery to the strategic forefront of Europe. As frontline states bordering Russia, the Baltic countries have played a pivotal role in shaping Europe’s response to the war in Ukraine, strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, and pushing for greater defence readiness across the continent. This discussion explores how Lithuania and its Baltic neighbours influence European security policy, sustain political and military support for Ukraine, and advocate for long-term deterrence and resilience within the EU and NATO. At a time of heightened instability, the Baltic perspective offers crucial insight into the future of European security.
