OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Most deaths in LMICs lack medical attention at the time of death so their causes are unknown. Using studies from Asia and Africa, Prof. Jha will discuss the desirability and means of obtaining national cause of death data where death registration is uncommon, and outline how reliable mortality data informs risk factor epidemiology and disease control priorities and programs.
Prabhat Jha is University Professor and Canada Research Chair in Global Health at the University of Toronto. He completed his DPhil from Magdalen College under the late Dame Valerie Beral and has worked for many years at the World Bank and WHO.
