On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

This talk examines the rising threat of foreign malign influence and insider threats across sectors, with a focus on their impact within academic institutions. Hostile actors increasingly target academia to access sensitive research, influence intellectual narratives, and gain technological advantages. Through tactics like insider recruitment and propaganda to sow discord, these threats endanger national security and research integrity. The presentation will explore strategies to mitigate these risks, including vetting, transparency in partnerships, and compliance with national requirements. By adopting proactive, collaborative measures, institutions can safeguard both academic freedom and national interests from foreign exploitation and insider risks.
