OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Walking with Gorillas
Do you have an interest in conservation, wildlife, and veterinary medicine? Then join us for a special event featuring Dr Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, a renowned wildlife veterinarian and conservationist from Uganda.
On Friday 19 May, Dr Gladys will share her experiences working in wildlife conservation and public health. She is co-founder of Conservation Through Public Health, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the coexistence of endangered mountain gorillas, other wildlife, humans, and livestock in Africa. Star of the BBC documentary, Gladys the African Vet, Dr Gladys has been awarded numerous accolades, including the Edinburgh Medal in 2022, and has been appointed a ‘champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations.
After the talk, Dr Gladys will be available to sign copies of her new book, Walking with Gorillas, a captivating memoir which documents her life and work in gorilla conservation.
