Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. We’re kicking off our first session with a fun paper from Anthony Forster and George Church, speculating on the steps required before Synthetic Biologists can create a cell from scratch. Robbie Oppenheimer will briefly present the paper, some historical context and interesting work since publication, in order to stimulate open discussion about this exciting possibility! It’s anticipated that everyone who comes along will read the paper before arriving 6:30pm, TONIGHT (January 21st), on Level 2 at the Rex Richards Building off South Parks Road.
