CEO Macmillan Cancer Support: How Macmillan influences the UK government
Lynda Thomas, CEO of Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the most high profile figures in the world of charity and NGOs, will be speaking in a topical and well timed event to The Oxford Guild and Oxford PPE Society on Tuesday 16th October from 5pm in Christ Church College’s Blue Boar Lecture Theatre.
As CEO of Macmillan Cancer Support, one of the most trusted charitable organisations in the UK, Lynda Thomas focuses on supporting people during their greatest times of need: at diagnosis, throughout their treatment, and for people whose cancer can’t be cured until the end of life. Lynda strives to ensure all people diagnosed with cancer know Macmillan is there for them. She works with high level government and business leaders and influences them to act decisively to fight cancer and improve the support for victims. She will talk about the important issue of how charities influence the UK government and the fight against cancer. She will share her experiences and insights across an extensive career in the the charity sector and leading such a respected and famous charity.
