OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
This event is devoted to the use of immersive technology in education.
Abbey Palmer will describe the use of virtual reality to improve learning outcomes in English literature in Oxfordshire classrooms, through the creation of a mobile app based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. Fridolin Wild will speak about the use of eXtended Reality to help novices advance to mastery in a variety of fields. Finally, Terje Pedersen and Sigrid Sjåstad from Rothaugen Middle School, Bergen, Norway will detail their integration of virtual reality (VR) games and experiences in the middle school classroom.
