OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
A Fireside Chat with Nicholas J. Rasmussen and Avril Haines
Hosted by the Oxford University International Relations Society & the Oxford Emerging Threats Group
Join us this Friday for conversation with Nicholas J. Rasmussen, Senior Advisor for National Security & Leadership Programs at the McCain Institute, who has served as a leading U.S. official on national security, intelligence, and counterterrorism for more than three decades. A previous director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) from 2014-2017, Rasmussen’s expertise encompasses national security strategy, policy and decision-making as well as counterterrorism and the confluence of national security and technology. The discussion will be led by Avril Haines, who served as Director of National Intelligence (DNI) during the Biden Administration.
This fireside chat is a great opportunity for students, researchers and practitioners interested in the theory, policy and practice of national and international security.
