Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Part of the TORCH Britain and the Soviet Union: Early Cultural Encounters Network events
The final event of our ‘Britain and the Soviet Union: Early Cultural Encounters’ Network is a recreation of one of the most important events in the history of British film: the Film Society’s screening of Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin and John Grierson’s Drifters on 10 November 1929.
The screening will take place at the Ultimate Picture Palace. We’re delighted that it will be introduced by Professor Emma Widdis (University of Cambridge) and Professor Jo Fox (School of Advanced Study, University of London), who bring expertise in Eisenstein’s and Grierson’s work.
The programme will begin at 5:30pm and finish at 8:30pm. The bar will be open from 5:00pm.
