OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Simon Akam is a British journalist and author. His first book, The Changing of the Guard – The British Army since 9/11, published in 2021, provides insight into the evolving role and relevance of that institution throughout the last two decades. It is a Times Literary Supplement book of the year and won the Templer First Book Prize. Simon’s writing has appeared in numerous publications on both sides of the Atlantic, including the New Yorker, the London Review of Books, the Economist, the Guardian, the New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Outside and GQ.
