Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Dr Jouni Kuha is Associate Professor of Statistics and Research at the London School of Economics, and the former head of the Department of Methodology. He has extensively worked on latent variable models, statistics for cross-national survey and comparison: stats.lse.ac.uk/kuha
His talk will explore a common problem in quantitative analysis, namely the comparison of regression coefficients for different groups and thus across different models. It will provide food for thought on how we conduct these analyses, and thereby stimulate a discussion on the pitfalls of quantitative analyses as well as considering “standard guidance” blindly.
The DSPI MethodsHub seminars showcase the opportunities different methodologies and research traditions offer for the investigation of policies, interventions and evaluation. As such researchers and students are invited to discuss the relationship of their approaches in contrast to the one presented.
