OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
You are warmly invited to the launch of the new book Schrödinger in Oxford written by Professor Sir David Clary FRS on Thursday 12th May at 5pm in the Magdalen College Auditorium. The book describes how Erwin Schrödinger, considered to be one of the greatest scientists of all time, interacted with the President and Fellows of Magdalen College in the 1930s. Schrödinger, who heard he had won the Nobel Prize for Physics on his first day at Magdalen in 1933, was a refugee from Hitler and a description of how this flamboyant Austrian scientist was caught up in the chaotic political scene of this era is a major feature of the book.
Sir David, who was President of Magdalen College from 2005-20, will give a brief introduction to his book and then there will be a Q&A. This will be followed by a drinks reception and an opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book at a reduced price.
