OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

What Economists Really Do: Race Related Research in Economics

How does economics compare to other social sciences in its study of issues related to race and ethnicity? Join us for the first ‘What Economists Really Do’ talk of the academic year with Arun Advani.
Arun is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick and co-chair of the Discover Economics campaign, which aims to increase the diversity of people who study and work in economics.
Arun will describe his research on this topic in which he studied the themes of over 500,000 academic publications in economics, political science, and sociology since the 1960s.
