On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.
If you have any questions, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Tomek Sikora helps lead the charity Sparrows for Ukraine, a grassroots organisation formed in Poland in 2022 focused on supporting front line Ukrainian soldiers and engaging in humanitarian relief on or near the front lines. Specifically, the charity engages in cross-border delivery of drones, night vision goggles, clothes, food, and medical supplies and has mobilised volunteers across Poland and Ukraine. Having worked on Ukrainian aid action on and off the front lines since the February 2022 invasion, Sikora is equipped with first-hand knowledge of the war and experience mobilising people and supplies for large-scale charitable action during wartime.
Drinks will be available starting at 8pm prior to the talk.
There are currently still spaces to ballot for the dinner with the speaker before the event. The dinner is at 6.15pm at Quod, 92-94 High St. If you would like to request a spot, please email secretary@oussg.uk. Please note that dinner attendees are required to pay for their own consumption.
