OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Digital accessibility: What is ALT about? How to provide text alternatives to images, graphics and charts
This session will be held online via Teams
This free session will cover all the ins and outs of providing text alternatives for users of screen readers and others. It will cover both the most common uses of the text alternative and edge cases. Most importantly, it will focus not just on the needs of screen reader users, but also other people who may benefit from a text alternative to a complex graphic.
The session is being held as part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2022. Find out more at ctl.ox.ac.uk/article/gaad-2022-thursday-19-may.
