Dr Adaku Agwunobi: Breaking Barriers

Dr Adaku Agwunobi has been involved in all aspects in STEM throughout her life. From a first degree in BSc Economics which consisted mainly of core mathematics, to a first Postdoc in Engineering Science at Oxford University. Dr Agwunobi is an Early Career Research Fellow at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, Saïd Business School, as well as a Research Associate at Wadham College. She holds two Master’s degrees including a MSc Health Economics, for which she obtained a NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) award.

She is also an entrepreneur, winning the Oxford Hub ‘Social Enterprise Award’ for her start-up ‘hairgoals’ which is a natural hair care and wellness brand using the intersection of physical wellness products and technology to improve wellbeing. Dr Adaku Agwunobi did her PhD research in the area of health and wellbeing of entrepreneurs in the digital economy, using intersectionality as a theoretical lens. She was also recently accepted onto the competitive Innovate UK Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme for another engineering and tech-related start-up that she is working on.

Join Dr Agwunobi as she discusses her barrier-breaking journey through STEM. After which, there will be a reception and networking event where Dr Agwunobi will be available to chat to attendees in more detail.
