OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Finding estimates for pupil characteristics not directly measured in the National Pupil Database
Using the NPD to answer education questions that weren’t asked in the underlying administrative data. I will discuss two projects that set out to answer ‘impossible’ questions: 1. What are the educational outcomes of refugee and asylum-seeking children? 2. How many children experience ‘off-rolling’ from secondary school? Neither status is collected in the data but we used narrowing strategies and probability-weighted analysis to begin answering these questions.
