OxTalks is Changing
On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Brazilian Intellectuals and the French Social Sciences, 1934-1964
Ian Merkel is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin’s department of history, the Friedrich-Meinecke-Institut. He received a dual PhD between New York University and the University of São Paulo in 2018 and has taught at Cornell University, the University of Miami, the University of Turin, and the University of Leipzig. His work in intellectual history examines exchange across Latin America and European empires with an emphasis on the emergence of the social sciences. His first book, Terms of Exchange: Brazilian Intellectuals and the French Social Sciences, will be published this May by the University of Chicago Press. Ian also co-edits the book series “Conexões e Ideias” with Paulo Teixeira Iumatti, published by the São Paulo-based Press Hucitec.
