OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Bacterial warfare: the Type VI secretion system of Serratia marcescens.
Please note: this talk will be held on WEDNESDAY at the later time of 2pm.
Type VI secretion systems were discovered less than 10 years ago, and can deliver toxins that kill other bacteria and modulate host cell functions. The roles of this secretion system in colonisation and disease emphasise the intense competition that exists between microbes.
