Redress Schemes for Personal Injuries
Dr Sonia Macleod and Professor Christopher Hodges have recently completed Redress Schemes for Personal Injuries (Hart, 2017).

This book provides the first systematic comparative study of over forty personal injury compensation schemes. It covers the drivers for their creation, their operational frameworks, the criteria and thresholds used, the redress offered, the claims process, statistics on throughput and costs, and core financial analysis. It also considers and compares the schemes’ relative successes and failings.

This talk will focus on how a selection of the schemes fit within their national legislative frameworks and will assess how current proposals to introduce no-blame schemes could fit within our national legal framework.
