OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
The session will look at GCRF gender equality requirements and discuss how these fit in the genealogy of paradigmatic thinking within gender and development. It will then explore epistemological, ethical and practical questions that emerge when a decolonial perspective is applied to mainstream concepts of gender and development and their transposition cross-culturally. Lastly, it will discuss how universities can navigate these requirements by example of the University of Edinburgh’s internally-looking research project entitled “Integrating Gender Equality into GCRF Funding Bids and Projects” under the auspices of genderED directed by Professor Fiona Mackay.
Presenters: Dr Romina Istratii (SOAS) and Dr Rosalind Cavaghan (representing the University of Edinburgh); Discussant: Andrea Cornwall (SOAS)
