Dr. Suzanne C.E.H. Sallevelt is a clinical geneticist, working in the Maastricht University Medical Centre+ (MUMC+), the Netherlands. Her areas of special interest are reproductive and mitochondrial genetics. The topic of her PhD thesis was the combination of these: “Preventing the transmission of mitochondrial diseases”. Currently she is working on setting up a continued research line related to this theme, in collaboration with centres in the UK. She is presently in Newcastle for two months in Prof. Mary Herbert’s lab at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Mitochondrial Research, Newcastle University.
