Roads to recovery
Bernard Tucker Memorial Lecture – Joint with OOS
Over the last few decades there have been many initiatives to bring about the recovery of populations of scarce or declining bird species in the UK. This has resulted in some notable successes, with species such as Red Kite and Bittern both far more numerous now than they were
just a few years ago. However such schemes do not always meet with immediate success. Having been involved in many recovery projects over many years, Ken Smith will look at some of the successes and also examine why it is not always easy or possible to bring about recovery.
