OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
The Oxford Women’s Leadership Alliance is honoured to welcome two internationally acclaimed filmmakers who are using film as a tool to shape public conversations and ignite lasting change.
Dawn Porter’s Trapped, which won both a Peabody and Sundance Film Festival award, explores laws regulating abortion clinics in the American South and has been used to help propel reproductive rights conversations in countries across the globe.
Lindsey Dryden, a veteran of BBC, Channel 4, and The History Channel, produced 2017’s Unrest, which highlights the power of human connection in the face of a life-altering, debilitating illness.
To commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, please join Dawn and Lindsey for clips and conversation and learn how they use the power of film to give voice to the voiceless.
