OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
The Four Talent Giants: Talent Development Strategies in Japan, Australia, China, and India and Their Implications for Korea
Gi-Wook Shin is the William J. Perry Professor of Contemporary Korea in Sociology and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University. His research explores nationalism, development, democratisation, and international relations in Korea and Asia. He has authored or edited 27 books,
including The Four Talent Giants (Stanford University Press, 2025). Before joining Stanford, he taught at Iowa and UCLA. Shin holds a BA from Yonsei University and an MA and PhD from the University of Washington.
