Andrew Tyrie: Are the UK’s economic and financial regulators fit for purpose?

Andrew Tyrie is a member of the House of Lords, former chair of the Competition and Markets Authority, chair of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, former MP, and former chair of the Treasury Select Committee. Over several decades he has helped to shape the economic and financial regulatory landscape of the UK, including the roles of the Bank of England and Financial Conduct Authority after the 2008 crash, and several other major regulators including the Competition and Markets Authority. The talk will both diagnose problems and discuss what should be done to improve regulation. Andrew is an Honorary Fellow and former student of Trinity College.
