Learned Societies and the transition to Open Access
With Oxford University Press and the Bodleian’s Open Access support team. Confirmed panel members: Professor Aditi Lahiri (Faculty of Linguistics, Philology & Phonetics; Linguistics Society of America; Philological Society), Professor Matthew Freeman (Dunn School of Pathology; Company of Biologists). Aims of the event are to explore the opportunities and challenges for learned societies as scholarly dissemination moves increasingly towards open access publishing. We will outline Plan S and developments in the wider OA landscape, address the implications for learned society journals, and offer information and guidance on points to consider and options available. Academics and researchers on journal editorial boards and from learned societies are especially encouraged to join a lively discussion on the way forward.
