Professor Robinson is an economist and political scientist currently serving as the Reverend Dr. Richard L. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict Studies at the Harris School of Public Policy in the University of Chicago. He specializes in comparative economic and political development of regions such as Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, and co-authored books such as “Why Nations Fail?”, “Economic Origins of Dictatorship and Democracy” and “The Narrow Corridor”. He is currently conducting research on Bolivia, the DRC, Sierra Leone, Haiti, and Colombia, among other countries.
