OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Evaluating the effects of a health workforce intervention on indicators of quality of newborn care in Kenyan neonatal units.
In resource-constrained Low Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) one nurse may be responsible for the care of 20 or more babies. The effect of such understaffing is poorly studied and there are no published studies that have investigated the effect of increasing staffing numbers on quality of patient care. This research examines nursing care provision in Kenyan newborn units with resource challenges and evaluates what effects a prospective intervention to increase the number of ward nurses has on the quality of newborn care provided in these units.
