On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Peace in the Middle East – a regional perspective
Thursday, 29.5, 19:30-21:00
refreshments available from 7.15pm
Central Oxford (exact location will be sent to registered participants)
It’s our privilege to welcome peace activists Mohamed Abubakr and Hamze Awawde for an open and engaging dialogue on their efforts to foster peace and stability in the Middle East. Their efforts span a broad spectrum of impactful initiatives—from educational programmes for youth and university engagements around the world, to high-level meetings with political leaders, the founding of peace centres, and participation in peace negotiations.
In this intimate and informal setting, Mohamed and Hamze will share insights from their journeys and reflect on the urgent need for new strategies in today’s evolving landscape. This is a unique opportunity to connect with them directly, exchange ideas and experiences, and explore practical avenues for meaningful activism.
