Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Ed Hillyer – also known as ILYA – has more than thirty years’ experience as a comic book writer, artist and editor, published internationally by Marvel, DC and Dark Horse in the USA, Kodansha in Japan, and numerous independent companies worldwide.
Ed’s titles include award-winning graphic novel series The End of the Century Club, Manga Shakespeare’s King Lear and Room for Love . He has also edited Mammoth Books of Best New Manga, and Colour Me Bad. He will be talking, showing and telling about the earliest days of comic strip narrative, and how those distant techniques relate to his current practice.
