OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Silicic magmatism: granite pluton growth, magma chamber formation and volcanism
In this seminar I explore contemporary understanding of silicic magmatic systems with a focus of the formation of large silicic magma chambers that are capable of large magnitude explosive eruptions. I discuss silicic melt generation in the middle and lower crust, melt segregation, magma transport and mechanisms of forming magma chambers and triggering of major eruptions.
