OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

TARAS SHEVCHENKO AND THE SPIRIT OF UKRAINIAN RESISTANCE: THE GREATEST UKRAINIAN POET WITH UNSURPASSED SIGNIFICANCE FOR THE UKRAINIAN NATION

A few days before Taras Shevchenko’s birthday Dr Nadiya Ivanenko and Dr Anastasiia Kolokolova will speak about famous Ukrainian poet, novelist, playwright, artist, political and public figure. They will present him as a man of universal gifts and interests whose entire life and work were dedicated to the Ukrainian people.
You will learn about Taras Shevchenko as one of the most outstanding masters of Ukrainian fine art. His influence on Ukrainian culture has been so immense that he is viewed as an almost iconic figure with his great contribution to the growth of the national Ukrainian consciousness.
Taras Shevchenko’s works have been translated into almost all languages of the world. You will listen to his poems cited in different languages.
