Biography as History: Beatriz Allende and the History of Revolution in Cold War Latin America
Tanya Harmer is an Associate Professor in International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her articles on the history of Chile, Cuba and the Cold War in Latin America have appeared in the Hispanic American Historical Review, the Journal of Latin American Studies, Cold War History and Diplomatic History. She is also the author of Allende’s Chile and the Inter-American Cold War (UNC, 2011), which won LASA’s Luciano Tomassini Book Award in 2013, and the editor with Alfredo Riquelme of Chile y la Guerra Fría Global (Ril, 2014). She is currently working on a biography of Beatriz Allende and Chile’s revolutionary generation.
