Workshop: Getting started in policy engagement
Policy engagement creates valuable connections between academia and policymakers. By sharing expertise, both groups can better address complex societal challenges.
This introductory session will explain different methods of engagement and why it benefits researchers and policymakers alike. We’ll also be involving researchers who have worked directly with policymakers to share their experiences bridging research and policy. We’ll provide tips for getting started, such as understanding how the policymaking process works, who the key players are in the policy environment, and how to build engagement into your research, and to get to know some tools to help with that.
