‘Speculation in the Anthropocene: Contemporary Turkey’
This talk will briefly introduce scholarship on speculative fiction in Turkey and give a contextual survey of the tradition of entangled futurities and speculative worldbuilding in contemporary Turkish Literature. Discussion of the selected primary texts will reveal the portrayal of ecological breakdown and speculation in the Anthropocene in contemporary Turkey in addition to other relevant common concerns and themes pictured in Turkish literature.
