Nineteenth-Century Cartographers of England and their Insults

RSVP: Please email library@chch.ox.ac.uk

The talk will focus on the Ordnance Survey (and its military precursor), the Ordnance Survey’s main private sector competitor, Christopher Greenwood, and on the mapmakers for the Great Reform Act. We will follow their lives, their mapmaking skills, and their insults addressed to each other and to the world at large. Examples of the maps will be on display.

The talk will be followed by refreshments. All are welcome.

Access to the Upper Library is by stairs only and may cause difficulty for anyone with limited mobility.

We look forward to seeing you there!
