OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Stealing to Stave Off Hunger. Environmental Calamities, the Poor, and the Law in Post-Independence Colombia
Ángela Pérez-Villa is an Assistant Professor of History at Western Michigan University (USA) who specializes on the social and legal history of early nineteenth-century Colombia. She’s a recipient of the 2022-2023 Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Scholars and is currently an Academic Visitor at the Latin American Centre at the University of Oxford, where she’s working on her first book manuscript on the social history of the law during Colombia’s Independence wars.
