OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Kicking the can down the road, or: how to create research impact in 7 (not so easy) steps
1 hour with questions; please bring your questions for Inger
In this lecture, Professor Inger Mewburn, better known as @thesiswhisperer on the internet, discusses developing research projects on top of a very full academic life, all the while building a huge following on social media. She drops the knowledge on getting money for research, commercialisation, collaboration and managing to write books on top of teaching a 50% load. This lecture questions the mental and physical challenges of being a 21st century academic and asks: what does a ‘sustainable academic practice’ look like?
