OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed on the Staff Gateway and via email to identified OxTalks users.

To celebrate the publication of Jonathan Bate’s new biography, we are joined by Bate, Seamus Perry and Oliver Taplin to discuss life-writing, poetry and the poet.
We are also delighted to announce that Anne Farrar Donovan, cousin of Ted Hughes, will be joining the event. She will discuss her reaction to Jonathan Bate’s biography and share her memories of Ted and the Farrar family, including visits from Seamus Heaney and the time when she went to school with Frieda and Nicholas Hughes in Heptonstall.
There will be a drinks reception after the event. Free, all welcome, booking recommended to guarantee a seat.
