OxTalks is Changing
On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Big Data Ethics Forum
Some of the ethical issues include:
As scientists, our data is at the source of our research and the basis of many research careers, in the age of Big Data is it ethical to store data and not to share it?
What are the incentives for sharing data?
Who owns the research data?
Is it ethical to share clinical data?
How much metadata should be shared?
How open should the sharing be?
Researchers are perfectionists, can data be shared if it hasn’t been double and triple checked?
