OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk

Tuesday 14th March = Dr Cathie Wells, on “Tracking the sustainability of long-haul flights”.
“We all enjoy travelling to exciting and far-off locations but the current climate crisis is making flights less and less attractive. Is there anything we can do about this? By making the best use of atmospheric data to plot courses that minimise aircraft fuel burn, airlines can not only save money on fuel but also reduce emissions. Dr Wells is a researcher at the Walker Institute, the University of Reading’s interdisciplinary centre for climate change research. Last year, her PhD research won the STEM project of the year at the Times Higher Education Awards.”
