CDL Seminar: Developing language and communication in the secondary mathematics classroom
In this seminar we will talk about a range of work focusing on developing language responsive mathematics classrooms in secondary schools. This work crosses across and between research and practice, including the development of some professional development resources as well as innovative methodological approaches. In particular, we will focus on one particular project that involved a collaboration between researchers across 4 countries and mathematics teachers in five schools in England in order to illustrate the links between research on language-responsive mathematics teaching and the implementation by teachers in mathematics classrooms.
