On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

India’s economic growth: From boom to bust and back again?

Dr Y V Reddy, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, will speak about his new book ‘Advice and Dissent: A Life in Public Service’ followed by a Q&A session. As governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Dr YV Reddy presided over a period of high growth, low inflation, stable rupee and ample foreign exchange and is credited with saving the Indian banking system from the sub-prime and global liquidity crisis of 2008. Based  on his recent book Advice & Dissent, which reviews his influential life in public service and experiences, his talk will provide insights from his life of public service, the economic boom after 2003 which saw India becoming one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the more recent economic slowdown and growing concerns about the sustainability of rapid growth.
Dr Y V Reddy was the 21st Governor of RBI and has been Chairman of the 14th Finance Commission in 2013-14. He was an Executive Director at IMF, Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Principal Secretary Government of Andhra Pradesh among various key positions held by him. He is a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and is an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics.
