Connecting with Industry
A dynamic and interactive 2 day in-person event aimed at giving researchers a working knowledge of critical business issues that impact commercial organisations. It’s designed to provide them with a set of tools and skills to help them be immediately more effective working in, and with, industry.
In this fast-paced practical programme participants will gain know-how that lets them engage with industry with more confidence by using the “language of business”.

They’ll gain skills that are valuable whether they plan to pursue a career in industry or collaborate with industry as part of a career in academic research. Throughout the programme they will work on activities and exercises with their peers, explore key concepts independently and apply new skills and tools to their current situation.

The programme is designed to be highly relevant to their area of research while fitting with their busy schedule and giving them the opportunity to work in groups and network with their peers.

Connecting with Industry is designed to give researchers the confidence, tools and skills to help them more effectively engage with and work with industry. Using case studies the instructors will highlight the importance of the researchers’ expertise to the commercial world and show practical ways and examples of how they can engage with companies.
