OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
What is qualitative research and why do we bother?
Francine studied archaeology and anthropology at the university of Cambridge and has more than 20 years post-doctoral experience in qualitative research. She is an invited lecturer for MSD and OUCAGS and leads the qualitative research programme at the NOC, Physiotherapy Research Unit.
Francine will:
1. Explore why we should bother with qualitative research.
2. Unpick some of the qualitative research myths and “isms”.
3. Give a brief overview of key methods (with some hands-on tasks)
4. Present findings from recent studies on women’s health and child/adolescent pain.
Please come with questions and an open mind.
