Towards Precision Psychiatry: CNS Discovery Research at Boehringer Ingelheim
Recent years have seen a shift in psychiatry research from a focus on discrete diagnostic categories to a more transdiagnostic and neurobiologicallly informed understanding of patient symptoms. However, this intellectual shift has yet to translate into new treatment approaches. I will describe how how Boehringer Ingelheim is working towards greater precision in psychiatry, with a focus on areas of particular unmet need for patients. I will also outline how BI collaborates with external partners, providing insights into how industry and academia may work together for mutual benefit.
