Policy Engagement for DPhil and Early Career Historians
Tom Kelsey, the Humanities and Public Policy Officer within the Oxford Policy Engagement Network (researchsupport.admin.ox.ac.uk/open) will lead a session about policy engagement for DPhil and early career historians. He will outline the workings of the policy world, discuss the ways in which historians have policy impact, and reflect on his own experiences at the interface of policy and academia. Tom, who has a PhD in History, has worked with leading think-tanks such as the Resolution Foundation and the Institute for Government. Previous to his current post, he was an ESRC Policy and Research Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government working with civil servants from the Cabinet Office.
